Boston Dynamics BigDog Robot starts throwing stones - how long will it take until it throws them at us..?

BigDog handles heavy objects. The goal is to use the strength of the legs and torso to power the motions of the arm. This dynamic, whole-body approach to manipulation is routine for human athletes and will improve the performance of advanced robots. Boston Dynamics is developing the control and actuation techniques needed for dynamic manipulation, with funding from the U.S. Army Research Laboratory's RCTA program.
